Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: A Reflection on Lee University's Community Service Event

Despite facing delays due to inclement weather, Lee University's Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service event was a powerful and inspiring gathering that celebrated the life and legacy of the iconic civil rights leader. Led by Dr. Gloria Scott Richmond, Director of Racial and Ethnic Relations at Lee University, the event took place on campus and brought together a diverse group of individuals to honor Dr. King's contributions to the fight for justice and equality.


Guest speakers at the event shared heartfelt greetings and speeches that highlighted Dr. King's unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of all humanity. The prevailing theme of the event centered around Dr. King's famous "I have a dream" speech, emphasizing the values of love, justice, and equality that he championed throughout his life.


The event served as a poignant reminder of the importance of continuing Dr. King's work and legacy in our communities today. By coming together to reflect on his teachings and principles, attendees were inspired to carry forward his message of unity and social justice.


We are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this meaningful event and look forward to continuing to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy in our ongoing pursuit of a more just and equitable society.
